New Drug Could Stop Alzheimer's In Its Tracks
(Source: ABC7) - Alzheimer's disease researchers report that they are on the brink of a breakthrough. An experimental drug, Alzhemed, successfully targets the amyloid peptide molecule that causes Alzheimer's and could stop the disease in its tracks.


The Mental and Physical Health of Caregivers
(Source: EurekAlert!) - Researchers at Case Western Reserve University set out to study how different cultural and religious beliefs impact the overall health of the caregivers.


Talking Bathroom Aids Independence
Dr. Alex Mihailidis and colleagues have developed a prototype interactive "talking bathroom," which assists people with dementia. Among other things, the bathroom can provide verbal and visual cues to assist in hand washing - if the person becomes confused about the correct sequence of steps.
